LRS Eddied EL34 is the TH-U expansion library developed by Live Ready Sound that recreates the sound of an authentic EL34-based EVH 5150 III head through many different cabinets, mics, speakers, distortion pedals and preamp tube combinations.
This is a three-channel head: The green channel boasts a sparkling and compressed clean tone, while the blue and red channels have slightly darker, compressed and saturated tones.
The LRS Eddied EL34 library contains 173 rigs:
- 42 amp-only (“direct”) rigs
- 131 amp+cab rigs
A set of rigs was captured by using different preamp tubes:
- 8 rigs with the 12AT7
- 13 rigs with the 12AU7
- 5 rigs with the 12AY7
- Four rigs were created by pairing a Engl Savage 6550 power amp, six rigs are boosted with a Savage Drive, and four rigs are inspired by the guitar sound of the band Down.
Combinations of the following microphones were used:
- Shure SM57
- Sennheiser MD421
- Heil PR20
- Sennheiser E609
- Beyerdynamic M160
