Built in the Custom Shop with period-correct appointments and superior attention to detail, its journey continued in the Murphy Lab. Utilizing aging techniques created by Master Artisan Tom Murphy, this reissue emerged looking like a vintage Gibson with very little playing wear. Constructed From Mahogany and Maple

This classic ’58 Gibson Les Paul Standard features a mahogany body and figured maple top, just like the classic. Marrying the two unique woods makes for a combination like no other.

Chunky C-Shape Neck

The mahogany neck has a Chunky C-shaped profile, which will make this Les Paul Standard feel like it belongs in your hands. Adding extra playing pleasure is the rosewood fretboard with narrow frets. With the Chunky neck profile for maximum bending leverage and a stunning maple top, this Les Paul Reissue is instantly comfortable to play.

Historic Hardware

The ABR-1 bridge with lightweight aluminum Stop Bar stopbar tailpiece, and vintage-style Kluson tuners match original ’58 specs. They also bear the patina of the past, thanks to the Murphy Lab’s aging process.

Ultra Light Aged Finish

The Murphy Lab puts this guitar through its Ultra Light aging process, showing slight lacquer checking, but very little playing wear. The nitrocellulose lacquer was reverse-engineered for historical authenticity. The end result is a Les Paul that looks like it has spent the bulk of its life in a case.
